School Uniform can be purchased from the School Office.
The Summer uniform (for when the weather is hot enough) consists of summer dress or shorts for the girls and shorts for the boys. Girls should wear the shorts on hot days when they do PE or take part in the Olympuc Events during the week beginning Monday 25 June.
On cooler days the tracksuit trousers or pleated skirts may be worn.
All children should bring a sun hat into school, to be left on their peg in the cloakroom. Please make sure that your child's hat is named!
The Avenue Nursery was first registered in 1977, by the London Borough of Haringey, as a small child-minding group of 6 children. As the years progressed, the School grew and moved into its current premises in September 1989 with a roll of 65 children aged from 2 1/2 years to 5 years . At that time, all children left the School after their Reception Year. The School was registered with OfSTED and was inspected on a regular basis.
A substantial building programme was started in July 2003 to add a new hall, classroom, library and cloakroom facilities. The School registered with the Department of Education as an Independent School in August 2004 and the first intake of Year 1 children started in September 2004. The following year the DfE inspected the provision at the school and confirmed its registration as an Independent School. OfSTED confirmed that the School was no longer required to be registered with the organisation and the Ofsted registration was surrendered.
The Avenue Nursery and Pre-Preparatory School is now a member of the Independent Association of Pre-Preparatory Schools (IAPS) following an inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate in March 2009. Inspections are now carried out by the Independent Schools Inspectorate.

The School is a member of the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS) and therefore the Independent Schools Inspectorate carries out regular inspections. The most recent Inspection took place in March 2009.
