Avenue Nursery Pre-preparatory School

School Uniform

School Uniform can be purchased from the School Office.

The Summer uniform (for when the weather is hot enough) consists of summer dress or shorts for the girls and shorts for the boys.  Girls should wear the shorts on hot days when they do PE or take part in the Olympuc Events during the week beginning Monday 25 June.

On cooler days the tracksuit trousers or pleated skirts may be worn.

All children should bring a sun hat into school, to be left on their peg in the cloakroom.  Please make sure that your child's hat is named!

Information about the School

The School values the contribution provided by visiting authors, musicians and theatre companies and events are organised each term.  Visits to places of interest, often in relation to class work, take place on a regular basis while festivals of other cultures and religions are also recognised and celebrated by the children.

We aim to provide a wide-ranging and balanced curriculum, available to every child in the School, and to encourage children to develop the qualities of independence, self-motivation, self-confidence and self-esteem during their time at the School.

Interactive whiteboards are used throughout the School, including in the Morning Nursery.  By the time the children reach Year 2 the whiteboards regularly form part of the lesson structure throughout the curriculum.

The children are able to enjoy the large garden and playground at the rear of the building – during the summer term many lessons are in fact held outside.

We hold an annual Sports Day during the summer term at Highgate Woods, to which all parents and their families are invited.
