The Year 1 and 2 children are taught in small groups and remain with the same teacher for both years. They are classroom based for their formal lessons, and use all the facilities in the school for extra curricular activities.
The Year 1 and 2 children have Numeracy and Literacy lessons every morning and continue with French, Music, Computing, PE and Pottery. Additional subjects, PHSE, Religious Education, History and Geography, are introduced into the curriculum.
The children are taken off site for swimming and continue with the ice skating lessons which began in the Reception Class. The classes are held at our local ice skating rink at Alexandra Palace and are taken by a fully qualified coach. Regular trips to places of interested connected to the Topic work take place each year.

There are occasional places in Year 1 and 2. Please contact the School Office if you are interested.
Children who enter Year 1 usually stay for 2 years in the Pre-Prep Department.
At the end of Year 2 our children have gone to a variety of North London Schools - these include Highgate Junior School, Belmont (Mill Hill Junior School), Channing, Cavendish, St Anthonys, Lyndhurst House Preparatory School and Heathside.

The School is a member of the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS) and therefore the Independent Schools Inspectorate carries out regular inspections. The most recent Inspection took place in March 2009.
